University of Missouri - NEE

Training

The NEE staff members train administrators using videos of teachers in classrooms to ensure consistency and reliability in rating classroom observations. Administrators are also trained to evaluate units of instruction and professional development plans. Periodic ongoing training and practice is provided online, at the ARC, and/or at conveniently-located regional facilities in Missouri to ensure that administrators remain consistent in ratings.

During training participants review the Model Teacher and Leader Standards and receive instruction on how to apply the NEE rubrics. At the end of each training session participants take an examination applying their new knowledge to score and qualify as a NEE evaluator. Training is also provided on other components of the NEE system, such as administering student surveys, incorporating student achievement data, and use of the web-based platform for storing, managing, and reporting data.

Information will be posted on our website for enrollment in 2014 sessions as dates become available.
